Did you know LinkedIn is currently testing a new feature called “Recommended Matches” to help employers find the ideal candidates to fill their vacancies?

Although not fully implemented yet, when some employers post a job advert, LinkedIn’s clever new algorithms set to work by searching through profiles to come up with the top 50 matches based on profile content and location.

The employer then has the opportunity to review each profile, and if they like what they see, send a 1-click introductory message.

In order to appear as a “recommended match” your LinkedIn profile must be fully search optimised with relevant keywords, engaging content and correct contact details.

Even if you’re not actively looking for a new position, employers could very well be looking for a person just like you – with an opportunity too good to ignore!

My advice is to be prepared and ensure your LinkedIn profile is as complete and engaging as it can be. You can find out more information about optimising your LinkedIn profile in my blog: Optimise Your LinkedIn Profile With Keywords.
